Cookie policy
This site sets no cookies of its own. The ones you may find come from advertising and analytics providers, and you can turn them off.
What a cookie is
A small text file a site asks your browser to keep, which is sent back on later visits. It is how a site recognises a returning browser. Cookies cannot run programs or read other files on your device, but they can be used to build a picture of browsing across many sites, which is why they are regulated.
Cookies on this site
| Set by | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| StowHand | None. The calculators keep no state between visits. | — |
| Google advertising | Selecting and measuring adverts, limiting how often the same advert is shown, detecting fraudulent clicks | Up to 2 years |
| Analytics | Counting visits and page views in aggregate to see which calculators are used | Up to 2 years |
Turning them off
- In your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Privacy or Site settings. Blocking third-party cookies switches off almost everything described above without affecting the calculators, which do not need cookies to function.
- At the source. Personalised advertising can be switched off at Google Ads Settings, and across many vendors at youronlinechoices.com. You will still see adverts; they will simply be untargeted.
What breaks if you block them
Nothing on this site. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser and does not read or write cookies. Blocking them costs you no functionality here.
